Clanfield FC - Player Pathway

Introduction

The Clanfield F.C Pathway Program is for players aged 15 to 18 that wish to play at a higher more competitive level of club football.

The focus is based on developing skills, game intelligence, and all-round knowledge of football to a high standard while enjoying the game in the process.

The aim of the Clanfield F.C Pathway Program squads is to:

  • Identify and recruit players within the club's catchment area with the potential to excel in football. 

  • Develop players who have the dedication and desire to challenge for a place in the Clanfield F.C first team or to obtain a scholarship to play university football in the UK or North America.

Program Contents

Advanced tactical and technical training in line with the current 1st team objectives and systems of play.

Player Education Program

Coach Certification 
All players graduating through the Pathway Program will have the opportunity to take some coach courses if they agree to volunteer a minimum number of hours to one of the clubs’ teams, programs, or camps.*

  • FA Playmaker - FREE

  • FA Introduction to coaching football - £100

  • FA Introduction to Futsal - FREE

  • FA National Futsal Course - £128

  • FA Safeguarding for All - FREE

*Commitment and financial terms are TBC

Referee Certification
All players graduating through the Pathway Program will have the opportunity to take some referee courses, the club will refund 50% of the course fees once the player has volunteered a minimum of 6 games to one of the clubs’ teams, tournaments, or camps.

  • The FA Referee Course - £145 

  • The FA Futsal Referee Course - £50 to £100

Video Analysis
Players will be taught how to use video tagging software, so they can create a library of their play.

Health and Nutrition

Players will be given the opportunity to attend education classes on a number of sports-related health and nutrition subjects.

  • Injury Prevention session

  • Sports psychology session

Educate/Scholarship Program (Player)

Players will have the opportunity to attend a number of presentations and sessions based on obtaining scholarships and playing or coaching at universities in Europe and North America.

Educate/BSc Football Coaching and Working in US (Coach)

UK International Soccer have teamed up with the University of Wales to create a unique degree.

 

The BSc (Hons) Football Coaching Development and Administration is aimed at students who want to work in a vibrant and dynamic environment in roles such as coaching, development and management.

 

This course provides an opportunity to gain industry-recognised coaching awards (UEFA) while studying all aspects of football coaching, and set you on the path to a rewarding career in this fast-paced industry.

Overseas tour/Showcase Tournaments

Participating in tours and tournaments can provide opportunities for players to face new challenges and competition, which can help to develop their skills and abilities. Additionally, playing against different teams can expose players to different playing styles and strategies, which can broaden their understanding of the game.

*Tours and tournaments can be provided at an extra cost

Volunteering

Players will be encouraged to volunteer at programs and events in the club and the local community. Try to find one volunteer opportunity per season.
